Duration: 13 days
Teaching load: 65 hours
Open Program load: 12 hours

Place: Barberí Space, Olot, Girona. Spain.
Aim
The aim is to expand the knowledge of the audiovisual language, both at a theoretical and practical level, in the representation, capture and explanation of space and architecture. To do this, we will start from an approach to RCR Arquitectes’ work, we will continue to share with Hisao Suzuki his way of approaching photography and of considering the composition, and then we will delve into the rest of aspects that are part of the audiovisual expression: narration, rhythm, sonority, …
This workshop is designed for all those who want to have the ability to explain their own work, or that of another, through the creation of videos with a vocation to communicate, and also adaptable to new digital formats and trends in social networks.
Program
Campus. Lectures on the camera and photography, silence and light, the work of the architectural photographer, the workflow with Photoshop and Lightroom, the monitor, printing on paper, editing and publication. You will study the bases of audiovisual language, audiovisual formats, storytelling, montage, sound and music and the work workflow with Premiere Pro. There will be joint visits to the work of RCR Arquitectes in the surrounding area.
Creative Workshop. Each participant, in groups of 2-3 people, will create an audiovisual, or set of audiovisual pieces, around the topic of air, putting into practice the knowledge learned.
Reviews. Corrections with Hisao Suzuki, Júlia de Balle and the teaching team and reviews with RCR Arquitectes.
Excursions to RCR’s works. Guided visits to RCR’s public works in Olot to analyse the critical aspects of the projects for presential participants. Exercise: Air
We explore the topic of air, a unique and volatile element. The definition of air embraces a set of chemical elements, a concept, an inspiration. It is the source of life and death, and it plays a significant role in the conditions for man, animals and landscapes. It also means beauty and a source of inspiration in art and architecture. It can make the invisible visible: light, a mood, an atmosphere, or creating spaces by drawing limits in the air.
Exercise directed by Hisao Suzuki and Júlia de Balle with the tutor Alba Domènech.
Participants: Sebastián Carvajal Avilés, Chile · Melissa Orozco Ríos, Mexico.
